Trump Guts Everything

On tonight’s show I’ll be discussing Trump’s latest avalanche of chaos, corruption, cruelty, and incompetence -- starting with his move to gut the Endangered Species Act and make it easier for developers, oil companies, mining interests, and big agriculture to destroy habitat, nests, and breeding areas that have been protected for more than 50 years.

Then we’ll get into Trump’s new Air Force One debacle. He rushed the job, bragged about it, spent a fortune, and now it reportedly wasn’t safe enough for him to fly home from Turkey because of security concerns tied to Iran. And speaking of Iran, economist Mark Zandi says Trump’s war has already cost the average American family around $1,100.

I’ll also explain how Trump just crippled the federal Election Assistance Commission -- the agency created after Bush v. Gore to help states with voting systems, registration, election security, and best practices. This is exactly the kind of chaos Trump wants heading into another election, especially as he keeps pushing ways to change voting rules and force voter ID requirements.

We’ll also talk about Trump denying disaster aid to four Democratic-led states while approving aid for six Republican-led states just two days earlier. It fits a much bigger pattern of Trump treating federal disaster help like political spoils -- from California wildfires, to COVID deaths in blue states, to his desire to get rid of FEMA entirely.

Plus: the ridiculous White House tarp excuse, new whistleblower allegations that Kash Patel demanded taxpayer-funded perks like helicopter tours and jet ski excursions, and the gay cruise blocked from docking in Turkey and then Egypt -- even though 2,000 passengers had already planned tours, including visits to Cairo and the new Egyptian museum.

We’ll also cover Pete Hegseth obsessing over sailors’ beards while the U.S. military is dealing with actual crises, and then turn to Ukraine, where Ukrainian forces are hammering Russia’s fuel supply -- hitting tankers, vessels, refineries, and oil terminals, helping trigger what analysts are calling Russia’s worst fuel crisis in two decades.

And finally, we’ll talk about the possible emergency U.S. package of PAC-3 Patriot missiles heading to Ukraine, why that’s good news, and why the longer-term production and licensing problems still show the West moving too slowly while Ukraine fights for its life.
