Taking some time on paternity leave and digging into old experimental work from long ago. This is an edit incorporating two experimental methods I tried in film school 16 years ago (holy crap): hand painted ink on clear super 8mm film and long exposure light painting with a bolex on 16mm. Edited together in final cut at the time.
The sound was a combination of some Sufjan Steven’s and some recordings of rainfall.
I was fascinated by the idea of the singularity at the time and wanted to convey the incoming overstimulation and acceleration of life. Smart phones were still pretty new then and we had no idea what chaos was around the corner.
