John returns and we go deeper into his work, and he addresses questions concerning his proposal about the non-teleological direction of evolution and what this implies for addressing the meaning crisis.

Here is John's info:

John Stewart is an Australian evolutionary thinker and member of the Evolution, Complexity and Cognition (ECCO) research group of the Free University of Brussels. He has published over a dozen papers on evolutionary science in international peer-reviewed science journals.

The Evolutionary Manifesto is a 34page overview of the evolutionary worldview/metanarrative that has emerged from these papers and the work of other evolutionary scientists. It outlines the trajectory of evolution and its implications for humanity, individually and collectively. It is here

For an article that provides some of the key scientific underpinnings of this evolutionary metanarrative, see his paper published in the Journal BioSystems “The Direction of EvolutionThe Rise of Cooperative Organisation”. It is freely accessible here

For a paper that provides some of the key scientific underpinnings of his work on meditation, consciousness and human evolvability (including its future evolution), see his article published in the Journal of Consciousness Studies“The Future Evolution of Consciousness”. A full preprint is freely accessible here

John's article entitled "The SelfOrganising SocietyA Grower's Guide" is about how a society can be set up in such a way that it will tend to selforganise 'the good'. The article includes a discussion of the importance of what he terms 'vertical markets' for achieving this in human societies. Here is the link

For further details about practices and other materials that have been developed to scaffold metasystemic cognition and the capacity to be selfevolving, see
