Around 2012, childhood was rapidly rewired—from play-based to phone-based—and teen mental health plummeted. In this talk, Jonathan Haidt unpacks what he calls the greatest destruction of human capital in history and explores how we can reverse course. From phone-free schools to global policy shifts, he makes the case for restoring independence, play, and purpose to a generation in crisis.
