Next, Joseph clarifies how the devil was enamored by his beauty and began to take pride in it, believing it was his making and not the Lord’s. Luke 18:19 also reveals the authority we have over Satan, for God has given us the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, over all the powers of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means harm us.
Joseph further assures us that we can defeat the powers of darkness when we have God’s word in us because greater is He who is in us than He who is in the world. He concludes by reminding us that we’re not trapped in darkness; rather, we’re agents here for our Lord Jesus Christ.
