He exposes how Lucifer was a reflector of God’s glory back to God, leading him to believe that he was the source of the glory he radiated. He explains that Lucifer’s downfall started with his obsession with the attention God gave to dirt, molding humans to look like Himself and breathing His breath of life into the dirt, creating man in both realms of authority: heaven and earth.

With this, envy and jealousy grew in Lucifer’s heart, for he questioned how God could have elevated dirt by putting His spirit on it, creating man. This fueled Lucifer’s hatred for God and mankind. Following this, he vowed to destroy mankind because he believed humans had taken the place he once held with God.
Interestingly, Joseph elaborates that Lucifer went ahead to declare war against God and heaven, also enticing the watchers whom God placed over humanity to watch over mankind. Lucifer violated God’s holiness with his pride, his love for glory, and his desire for promotion; all these sins led to him being driven down from heaven. In addition, Joseph asserts that God created all things for mankind, citing Proverbs 8:22-31 to establish that Jesus delighted in the sons of men, unlike Lucifer, who took mankind as his sworn enemies out of jealousy for them.
