But we didn't realize was that the world was going to change us.
We had an opportunity this spring to travel to Indonesia with our friend Kate and meet Ginan, founder of Rumah Cemara, and a little boy named Fijar. We learned more about the devastating effects of HIV/AIDS, from the daily struggles to the death toll to the stigma and discrimination HIV positive people face.
But for everything that this virus has done to destroy, it has also brought incredible strength and resilience, commitment and love, community and hope. Together, we can defeat HIV and end AIDS in our generation.
