YouTube Description
as posted by the channelPresentation to the APA Division 32 Student Ambassadors for Humanistic and Transpersonal Psychology, hosted by Richard Bargdill.
“Rethinking The Nature Of Consciousness: Addressing The Hard Problem, Binding Problem, And Anomalous Experiences With Zero-Point Field Theory And The Astroglia Syncytium” — recapping highlights of talks delivered at The Science of Consciousness (TSC) Conference (4/23/24), Society for Humanistic Psychology (SHP) Conference (3/30/24), University of West Georgia SPARC Conference (4/11/24), and more.
Offers a specific framework and mechanisms based in physics and neurophysiology to account for the extraordinary types of phenomena subjectively perceived during altered states and “peak and plateau experiences” as defined by Abraham Maslow, in addition to addressing two other long-standing conundrums related to consciousness.
Central focus is placed on a variety of little-known properties exhibited by a type of glial cell known as astrocytes — compiled from peer-reviewed literature — which appear to help resolve all of these otherwise baffling issues at once.
The bottom line of these reseach findings: CONSCIOUSNESS IS NOT PRODUCED BY THE BRAIN. Instead, the brain is more akin to a radio — tuning into particular frequency patterns from the underlying source of all electromagnetic phenomena. This research is an interdisciplinary extension of the work of Joachim Keppler, a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics.
