YouTube Description
as posted by the channelWhat if a blind man with no physical eyes reported perceiving light, shapes, and even a glimpse of his wife’s face?
1000 Blindfolds is a documentary investigating Mindsight, also called blindfold perception or minimal light perception training, a controversial practice in which blind and blindfolded participants report perceiving without ordinary eyesight.
At the center of the film is Shaun Jordan, who lost his sight as a child and later had both eyes removed. After training, he describes perceiving light, color, shapes, and one deeply personal moment: a glimpse of his wife’s face.
This film is not asking you to believe blindly. It is asking you to look carefully.
Through blind and low-vision participants, teachers, researchers, and skeptics, the film follows one difficult question: if even part of this is real, what could it mean for blind and visually impaired people?
1000 Blindfolds does not present Mindsight as proven science. It presents a field investigation with firsthand experiences, unanswered questions, and a signal worth examining more closely.
Some experiences are anecdotal. Some are difficult to explain. Some need stronger testing before firm conclusions can be drawn. But if this could improve independence, mobility, or quality of life for blind people, even modestly, it deserves better research, stronger protocols, and more support for blind participants.
