0:46Now PlayingI would rather have my kids watch me fail than watch me win all the time.
That is where the real lessons are. If all they ever see is the money, the vacations, and the highlights, they are going to think life is supposed to be easy. And when it is not, they will not know how to handle it.
But if I can let them see the losses, sit in the difficult seasons with me, and watch how I respond when things do not go according to plan, they will understand something that no school will ever teach them. That the good moments were earned. That the wins came after the work, the sacrifice, and the mistakes that shaped everything.
Life comes with rain every year. If you shield your children from all of it and only show them sunshine, you are setting them up to believe that results just happen. They do not. You fought for yours. Show them that fight. Show them the version of you that was figuring it out, not just the version that figured it out.
The sacrifices you made to build this life are not something to hide from your kids. They are the most valuable thing you can teach them.
