As a Park Avenue adjacent-identifying home owner, MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle was triggered by Joe Biden framing the election as "Scranton vs. Park Avenue." Apparently, she didn't hear that Biden himself told donors at an event at the Carlyle Hotel in Manhattan back in June 2019 that “no one’s standard of living will change, nothing would fundamentally change,” under his presidency and he wouldn't "demonize the rich."
An irate Ruhle said, "Joe Biden said yesterday that his campaign is Scranton versus Park Avenue. Why is he going with this divide-and-conquer approach? That's Trump's thing. What about a message for all Americans? I don't live on Park Avenue, but I live pretty close to it. And do you know how I got there? Working my butt off. He doesn't want my vote?" I looked into how close to Park Avenue Ruhle lives. And it's pretty close. And she got there through a career in finance.
