Watch the full conversation with Said here

Katie talks to Palestinian journalist Said Arikat about his reporting on Palestine and how he manages to challenge the State Department at their daily press conferences without getting kicked out or not called on! But first Jewish American filmmakers Erin Axelman and Sam Eilertsen and Jewish American activist Simone Zimmerman discuss their controversial and frequently banned documentary "Israelism" about the way young Jews are rejecting zionism.

Said Arikat is a Palestinian journalist and Washington bureau chief for Al-Quds, a daily Newspaper which has been published out of East Jerusalem (uninterruptedly) since 1951.

In addition to his work as a journalist, Arikat is an adjunct professor at the American University. He served as the United Nations Chief Spokesman in Iraq from 2005-2010. He is a familiar face at U.S. State Department press briefings, where he has engaged in sometimes contentious exchanges with State Department Spokespersons.

Erin Axelman is a queer Jewish filmmaker based out of Massachusetts. They are the co-director and producer of "Israelism," which is their directorial debut.

Sam Eilertsen is the co-director and director of photography of "Israelism." They are the co-founder of Tikkun Olam Productions, and the director of the upcoming projects Generation Green New Deal and Vs Goliath.

Simone Zimmerman is a progressive Jewish activist originally from Los Angeles. She is a co-founder of IfNotNow, the former head of B'tselem US, and currently works with Diaspora Alliance on issues of antisemitism and Palestinian rights.
