Katie, Dave Anthony and Josh Olson react to Dick and Liz Cheney’s damning endorsement of Kamala Harris. Dick Cheney explained he was voting for Kamala because “in our nation’s 246-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump. He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him.” Trump may have tried to overthrow the 2020 election, but he failed. It was George W Bush and his vice president/ puppet master Dick Cheney who launched a successful coup that overturned the 2000 election. Katie shows a clip from The Rachel Maddow Show, back from when Rachel Maddow actually saw Bush and Cheney as the bad guys, of the so-called Brooks Brothers Riot, when Republican operatives on the Bush-Cheney payroll stopped a Florida recount. Katie explains, “the only difference between them [Bush/Cheney] and Trump is that they succeeded.” Dave agrees: “They did a riot. And previous to this [they were] literally kicking 100, 000 black people off of the voter rolls. And then [they] got the legal apparatus involved. It was a basic coup.”
