Israel’s blockade on Gaza has inflicted famine conditions on Palestinians, with hundreds dying by starvation, and thousands more on the brink of death. On Monday night, over 1,000 Jewish people protested the starvation siege in Gaza that is being imposed by Israel and facilitated by the U.S. Over 40 of the protestors were arrested In Prayer, including Lily Greenberg Call, who resigned in March 2024 from her post at the US Department of the Interior, becoming the first and only Jewish political appointee to do so in protest of Israel's war on Gaza.
She told Katie "I'm protesting the intentional starvation of 2 million people in Gaza in the name of the Jewish people, with the backing of the U.S. Government. As the first Jewish person and the only Jewish person to resign from the Biden Administration in protest of this genocide, I urge every Jewish person to be in the streets, protesting this, getting arrested, taking as much risk as you can."
Rabbi for ceasefire Ari Lev Fornari, who was also arrested said, "Every life is a universe. I'm a rabbi for ceasefire who believes we need to end this starvation if Gaza to protect lives at all costs."
