Behrooz Ghamari is an Iranianborn American historian, sociologist, & professor, known for his work on the Iranian revolution & its aftermath. He is a fellow at the Center for Place, Culture, & Politics at the CUNY Graduate Center & is affiliated w/ the Institute of Iranian Studies at the University of Toronto. Formerly, he was Professor & Chair of the Department of Near Eastern Studies & Director of the Center for Iran & Persian Gulf Studies at Princeton University. He is the author of 4 books on different aspects & historical context of the Iranian revolution of 1979 & its aftermath"Islam & Dissent in PostRevolutionary Iran"; "Foucault in IranIslamic Revolution after the Enlightenment"; "Remembering AkbarInside the Iranian Revolution," & most recently "The Long War on IranNew Events, Old Questions."
