Homemaker Day in the Life I The Sound of Real Homemaking

Cabbage Burger (Breakfast) Recipes:

4.5 cups flour (5 cups freshly milled ww flour)

1/4 cup sugar

1 tbsp yeast

1 tsp salt

3/4 cup milk

1/2 cup water

1 stick butter (1/2 cup)

2 eggs

I doubled the recipe and did half and half: cabbage, onion, ground beef, cheese & ground sausage, cheese, scrambled egg.

Directions

1. In a medium sized bowl combine warm milk, water, sugar, and yeast. Stir until majority of the yeast has been dissolved. Allow 5 minutes for yeast to activate and "bubble" or "foam".

2. Add flour, salt, butter, and eggs.

3. Knead dough until it is smooth and tacky (not sticky, it shouldn't peel off onto your fingers or palm).

4. Allow dough to rise for 1-2 hours (until it's doubled in size).

5. Cut dough in 12 pieces. Roll out into a flat oval. Fill the dough with cooled filling (hot filling will melt the dough). Fold edges together, flip over, and place on a baking sheet.

6. Allow 30 minutes-1 hour of rise time. Cook at 400F for 10-15 minutes.
