The restrictions are causing more significant frustration for some, fear, concern, and anxiety for others. These are feelings I've felt as we navigate these uncharted waters to different degrees.
Our office receives many calls and emails from people looking for clarity. After meeting with two of our community advisory groups, we are not sharing enough information with residents.
It's my job to serve residents' needs in my ward and the City of Winnipeg, and I need the tools to do my job thoroughly, but I'm not getting the information when required.
On Friday, October 30th, I sent an email requesting a meeting to keep elected officials informed. There has been no reply.
I remain committed to working collaboratively with the leadership at City Hall and all my colleagues in Winnipeg's best interest. My door remains open. I hope we can make information a priority for residents in our city.
