Working with them has been an honour from the beginning, and yesterday marked a profound milestone with a promise of $250,000.
I was overjoyed to stand alongside our leader, Heather Stefanson, Canada's hero, Colonel Hadfield, and my friend Dave Howard, CEO of Homes for Heroes.
I had the honour of meeting Colonel Hadfield in Winnipeg last night to speak at an event raising funds for the Homes for Heroes village coming to our community. His commitment to this project and our veterans is unwavering.
Everyone knows one of the defining moments of Hadfield's time on the International Space Station was his rendition of David Bowie's "Space Oddity." The video, which featured Hadfield singing and playing guitar while floating inside the ISS, went viral and garnered millions of views. It captured the imagination of people around the world and demonstrated the power of music and creativity to transcend the boundaries of space. David Bowie himself praised Hadfield's rendition as "possibly the most poignant version of the song ever created."
Colonel Hadfield is a Canadian Hero, and hearing him speak was an honour.
