PFC Lawrence S. Gordon was a Canadian citizen who joined the U.S. Army shortly after Pearl Harbor was bombed on December 7, 1941. On August 13, 1944 as a member of the Reconnaissance Company, 32nd Armored Regiment, 3rd Armored Division, he lost his life in Normandy. His family was informed by the War Department that he was “Missing in Action,” but they never found out what happened to his body.
