1:23Now PlayingThe unrest in Hong Kong should serve as a warning to the world. China is acting like a global bully and will continue to do so until the rest of the world stops them. China promised in 1997 that Hong Kong could maintain its own governance and economic system, but in recent years reneged on that promise by forcing new laws and regulations. Their intrusion represents a long string of broken promises to the world. China has violated commitments to the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Seas Violated U.N. sanctions (which they voted for) against North Korea And delivered debt and corruption through their Belt and Road economic “initiative.” There is little that can be done to assure the future of freedom in Hong Kong, but it's an important lesson about what China has in mind for the rest of the world.
