Somebody isn’t happy that the ERA has been dead for over 40 years and, thankfully, will probably stay that way!

If the ERA were proposed again today, it couldn’t get the two-thirds support necessary from Congress or the states to ratify as a constitutional amendment. Why? For starters, because women are equal under the law, so it would serve no real purpose. And second, eliminating the distinction between men and women, as the #ERA would do, would actually lead to the unfair treatment of women, not their equal protection. Most Americans would not support that.
