Fresh off the conquest of the Kwharazmian Empire, the Mongol horde treks west to wage war on Europe in the name of Genghis Khan. The principalities of the Kyivan (Kievan) Rus’ must suffer the ensuing Mongol invasion. The regional peoples rally behind leaders such as Danilo of Halych-Volhynia (Daniel of Galicia) to assert independence.
