In 1775 and 1776 the war continued with the siege of Boston, American Declaration of Independence, Fall of New York, Battle of Long Island, Ten Crucial Days, the battle of Trenton and the battle of Princeton (), while in 1777 the tide turned with the battles of Brandywine, Germantown and Saratoga.
