Kings and Generals began remaking its animated historical documentary on the history of the Ottoman empire. The first season covered the Rise of the Ottoman Empire from the humble beginnings as a small Turkic Beylik to the Fall of Constantinople 1453 covering all the major battles including Nicopolis, Kosovo, Ankara, Varna, Rovine and much more, as the Ottoman sultans fought the Eastern Roman, Serbian, Bulgarian empires, as well as Venice, the Timurids, Hungary, Wallachia, various crusades and more (). The second season documentary covers the Ottoman Empire after 1453, following Sultan Mehmed II in the years after the conquest of Constantinople and focusing on the key wars, campaigns, battles, and political decisions that shaped his reign. Beginning with the consolidation of power in Constantinople, the video examines Mehmed’s reconstruction of the city, the creation of new imperial institutions, and the centralization of authority around the Sublime Porte. The narrative then moves through Mehmed’s major military campaigns across the Balkans and Anatolia, including the wars against the Serbian Despotate (14541459), the fall of Novo Brdo, Smederevo, and the final annexation of Serbia. It covers the pivotal Siege of Belgrade (1456) and the clash with John Hunyadi, one of the most significant Ottoman defeats of the 15th century. The documentary continues with the prolonged conflict in Albania, detailing Mehmed’s campaigns against Skanderbeg, including the Battles of Modrič, Meçad, Albulena, and Vajkal. It then follows Ottoman expansion into Morea, the defeat of Thomas and Demetrios Palaiologos, and the complete annexation of the Peloponnese in 1460. Further sections examine the conquest of Trebizond (1461) and the elimination of the Komnenos dynasty, followed by the wars in Wallachia against Vlad III Dracula, including the Night Attack at Târgoviște (1462) and the Ottoman invasion north of the Danube. The video also covers the rapid Ottoman conquest of Bosnia (1463) and the execution of King Stephen Tomašević.
