Ironically, Taiwan's first true colonizers weren't Chinese, but the Dutch! 🇳🇱 Arriving in 1624, the VOC built Fort Zeelandia and transformed Ilha Formosa. They fought indigenous warriors, converted locals to Christianity, and—most importantly—imported the first mass wave of Chinese laborers from Fujian. This strategy of "divide and rule" laid the foundation for the Taiwan we know today. #TaiwanHistory #DutchEastIndiaCompany #VOC #HistoryShorts #IlhaFormosa #IndigenousHistory #FortZeelandia #EastAsiaHistory #Colonization #TaiwaneseHistory
