2:51Now PlayingConservative Christian radio host Matt Barber on Tuesday said that liberals and "comprehensive sex education" had caused a new strain of gonorrhea that is resistant to traditional treatments.
Earlier this year, the Center for Disease Control warned that a strain of gonorrhea had developed a resistance to the antibiotic cephalosporin, and it was being seen in higher rates in western states.
To delay the emergence of the drug-resistant strains, the CDC advised clinicians to "counsel sexually active adults, particularly those living in high prevalence areas, to engage in mutually monogamous partnerships with uninfected partners and to consistently and correctly use latex condoms, which can reduce transmission."
