THIS WEEK: Domestic Violence and Family Law.
This is a show about politics, society and our future. We need to shift our mindset away from strict rules and centralized control to free-flowing ideas and localized solutions. Our culture needs to move away from fear-based retaliatory reaction and toward growth-based proactive support.
This week, We talking about Family Law/Family Courts and the removing guns rights from those convicted of domestic violence. Answers and discussion, this Wednesday night at The Governor’s House.
1st Segment:
Larry talks about his childhood in Brooklyn and his experiences with domestic violence among his parents. He also discusses family court cases, and how the lack of punishment for perjury had resulted in dishonest testimony and other societal consequences. After that, he discusses harassment, and how the focus should not be on punishment but on stopping the behavior.
2nd Segment:
Larry continues to talk about family court, and how it should focus on giving a child access to both parents, how it should help make things easier for a father paying child support, and the problems with restraining orders. A caller on the line, Charlie, also asks Larry about how Charlie can tackle his approval of the Libertarian party and his disapproval of the party’s leadership.
3rd Segment:
Larry gets a new caller, who asks Larry to give some more detail on his plans for child support for kids whose father is not biologically related, and how father and child may or may not be affected by the news that they are not biologically related. Larry discusses this and then goes into the problem with the court system, especially in regards to how it affects parents in family court.
4th Segment:
Another person, Edmund, calls in to ask Larry about what can be done to prevent issues in family court, especially regarding lawyers and families. Larry’s simple answer: make lying in family court perjury, and make lawyers directly responsible for lying clients. In his answer, he further discusses his problems with family court, and how he wants to make changes so that it really helps the families involved.
