Jackson has volunteered with local schools, church groups, and Habitat for Humanity. He was a reserve sheriff's deputy for Lake County, Illinois. He ran for Governor of Illinois in 2018.

Veteran, Father, Friend, Relentless Patriot. It began in a courtroom. It began when I was on the receiving end of injustice which is so prevalent in government. I am a father. I have a God given right to raise my children. I have a right to seek redress of government without fear of reprisal. When they used my children in a cowardly attempt at silencing me, I fought back. I haven’t seen my children in two very long years. They are criminals who hide behind robes, badges, and suits. I refuse to lay down my principles. If I do then I know others will continue to suffer. Forget everything you believed about our judicial system. Its wrong. I will fight on my feet before I will ever live on my knees.
