A huge thanks to my Subscribestar members for making this first bit of filming in Portland and announcement possible!
Crossfire is my third documentary film project focusing on the issues surrounding policing, brutality, race, law and order. A heated debate today which has led to a massive political divide between those supporting officers, those defending reform and even many rioting violently in the streets.
It appears too many media outlets are reporting on this issue as activists, ignoring the violence and chaos created by extremist rioters. Ignoring statistics around the issue of policing. Or in some cases ignoring legitimate over reach and abuse by the state.
I want to find the truths behind policing and abuse, its connections to race and discrimination. What the actual data and experts say, not what the pundit class want you to believe. I plan to investigate the struggle police officers face in our modern climate. What it’s like to truly be on the front lines compared to how the media often contorts the actions of those in life threatening situations.
I also hope to expose the reality for those caught in the crossfire of lawless protest and crime. As well as investigate genuine abuses by the authorities, what reformists want and what many would call a growing militarized surveillance state.
