In Part 2 of this interview, I talk with clinical psychologist Bruce E. Levine about his book Resisting Illegitimate Authority. We discuss some famous anti-authoritarians, like Emma Goldman, who fought Bolsheviks amd Malcom X, who took on the Nation of Islam. We talk about principled dissent and the psychopathologization of people like Edward Snowden, Chelsea Manning and actress Frances Farmer. We discussed his poor oppinion of his own profession of psychiatry and psychology and their medical diagnoses of which he is suspect. I asked him if he thought that maybe some of the violent anti-authoritarians like the guy who shot McKinley and the Unibomber might in fact have been on the Autism spectrum. We talk about the role of God, relationships, righteous anger in these anti-authoritarians and happiness.
