Former Inkster police officer William Melendez, nicknamed "Robocop", is charged with assault after being caught on dash cam video repeatedly punching a motorist in the head during a Detroit traffic stop. He was fired by the Inkster police department after the Jan. 28 incident in which Floyd Dent is seen on video being pulled from his car, thrown to the ground and punched.
