as posted by the channelTony McDade was killed during interaction with police in May. McDade, 38, was shot and killed two days after the death of George Floyd. The officer who was involved has not been publicly identified. Police Union has granted extra time to fight the release of the officer's name. Florida Law states that officers involved in shootings are victims also. Macy's Law guarantees that officers have anonymity. Police believed that McDade was involved in a nearby stabbing. Police Said McDade was in possession of a handgun. McDade, a trans-man, was previously mis-gendered in reports.
A co-worker of George Floyd and officer Chauvin Speaks out. He says Derek Chauvin & George Floyd had a history together. David Pinne says that both men "Bumped Heads." Pinne also stated, "They knew each other pretty well." Pinne worked nightclub security with Chauvin & Floyd. Floyd's family believes the killing might have been personal. Floyd's death has sparked national & international protests. Floyd died after Chauvin pressed his knee into the neck/chest. Former officer Chauvin has been charged with 2nd-degree murder.
The officer involved in George Floyd's death is out on bond. Former Officer Thomas Lane is represented by Earl Gray. Lane's attorney spoke to media in support of his client. Attorney Gray stated that the public should have intervened. Gray said Lane is "a compassionate man." Gray also said that Lane followed instructions of his senior officer. Former officer Lane has been charged with aiding & abetting murder.
