Federal inmate executions resume after 17 years. The first inmate was executed on Tuesday amid controversy. Daniel Lee was convicted of a 1996 Arkansas triple murder. The Supreme Court cleared the way for the execution in an overnight ruling. The victims' family sued and wanted to stop Lee's execution. A Judge ordered the second execution to be stopped. Lawyers state Wesley Purkey suffers from advancing dementia. Purkey confessed to killing Jennifer Long, 16, in 1998. Purkey was convicted of raping, killing & dismembering Long.
A judge issued a gag order in the George Floyd case. Attorneys for defendants objected to the gag order. Attorneys accuse MN Atty General of contempt of court. Ex-cop Thomas Lane filed a motion to dismiss charges. Lane was charged with aiding 2nd-degree murder & manslaughter. Derek Chauvin was charged with 2nd-degree murder & manslaughter. Floyd died after officers pressed a knee into his neck &, chest.
Shaquille O'Neal stopped to help a driver on a Florida highway. An NBA superstar helped the driver with a blown-out tire. Alachua County Sheriff's Department posted a dashcam video. Shaq remained on the scene until deputies arrived.
