A 12-year-old was found dead in a locked, dark room lying in feces. The cause of death was stated to be blunt force trauma, starvation, and malnutrition. Max Schollenberger was allegedly hidden by his father and the father's fiance. Other children in the house were told to ignore max and not to talk to him. The District Attorney stated that he was in that room for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Scott Schollengerger and his fiance were charged with homicide, conspiracy, and child endangerment. Schollenberger was arrested while out on bond.
