The Cape Coral Police Department said officers worked with suspect Regan Beresford’s former neighbors, who claimed Beresford allegedly sent their child inappropriate messages two months prior, to arrest the 52-year-old man. Legendary investigative reporter and former host of “To Catch a Predator” Chris Hansen called the sting operation rare because the suspect knew the victim personally.
