The responding officer noted an empty space near the family’s suitcases where another suitcase may have previously been. Authorities allege Gannon Stauch was murdered in his bedroom, stuffed inside a suitcase, and dumped in Florida, where the suitcase was discovered two months later with the boy’s body inside.
