Murdaugh’s defense team claims the Colleton County clerk of court Rebecca Hill tampered with the jury during his double murder trial, resulting in an unfair trial. "There is no choice — but the court’s — to grant a new trial," attorney Jim Griffin said. The disgraced lawyer was convicted of killing his wife, Maggie, and son, Paul, by a South Carolina jury in March.
