9:35Now PlayingOne of the two preteens who were involved in the attempted “Slender Man” stabbing of their friend is asking to be removed from the mental institution. Now 21-year-old Morgan Geyser has requested that she be released from the Winnebago Mental Health Institution after she was initially sentenced to 40 years in the mental facility in 2018. Geyser was found not guilty in the crime because of mental disease for the brutal stabbing of her friend, Payton Leutner. A judge has 30 days to have doctors evaluate Geyser before the issue is heard by the court. Law & Crime’s Elizabeth Millner breaks down the story.
