Laken Riley, a 22-year-old woman, went out for a run last month but did not return home as expected. Concerned about her whereabouts, one of Riley's friends contacted the University of Georgia Police. Within 30 minutes of the report, officers located Riley in a wooded area off a trail, where she was found with visible injuries. The following day, UGA police announced that Jose Antonio Ibarra had been charged in connection with Riley's murder and kidnapping.
