North Olmsted police rushed to the scene of the crime and arrested 32-year-old Bionca Ellis of Cleveland. Bystanders told officers they had no time to react to the random attack in the Giant Eagle grocery store parking lot. Law&Crime’s Elizabeth Millner breaks it down.

The toddler was stabbed with a kitchen knife while riding in his mom’s cart. Ellis allegedly followed the boy and his mother out of the store before the attack. The boy’s mother was also stabbed once in the shoulder. Ellis fled the scene and was arrested shortly after without resisting. She had no previous interactions with the mother or the boy.
