Ashley Benefield faces a charge of second-degree murder for the death of Doug Benefield. Ashley ran to a neighbor’s home and said she shot Doug after he allegedly attacked her, responding deputies said. Ashley claims she shot Doug in self-defense. Investigators believe there was no evidence of a struggle or abuse and that Doug was shot while he was facing away from his wife. Law&Crime’s Elizabeth Millner breaks down the story so far.
