26:48Now PlayingIn 2001, 41-year-old Leslie Preer was brutally murdered in her Montgomery County, Maryland home, and despite DNA evidence excluding her husband, the case went cold for over two decades. Detectives finally connected the crime to Eugene Gligor, a former boyfriend of Leslie’s daughter, after collecting his DNA from a discarded water bottle and confirming a familial match overseas. Gligor, who initially feigned shock during interrogation, ultimately pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in 2024 and was sentenced to 30 years in prison, bringing long-awaited justice though Leslie’s husband—wrongly suspected early on—died in 2017 without closure.
