Kayla Blake and her 13-year-old daughter, Kennedi McCracken, were found murdered in their Kentucky home after Kayla failed to show up for work. Police quickly identified Kayla’s boyfriend, Joshua Cottrell — a man with a violent past who previously served prison time for manslaughter in a 2003 killing — as the suspect, later arresting him at a hospital hours away.
