as posted by the channelPolice say 13-year-old Melony Granados, who had epilepsy and the mental capacity of a toddler, died after allegedly being kept in a cage by her grandmother, 55-year-old Virginia Lujan, inside a Tempe, Arizona home. Lujan was arrested earlier this year on multiple child abuse and evidence tampering charges, while Melony’s mother, Jami Hodges, also faced one count of child abuse for allegedly knowing her daughter was confined. In a shocking twist, Lujan has since died of natural causes, leaving investigators to determine whether Hodges will face additional charges as the case remains active.
