Five people were eventually arrested, and Alicia Andrews, accused of serving as a lookout, became the first defendant to face trial, where she testified she had no knowledge of the plot before being convicted of manslaughter rather than first-degree murder. Her co-defendants, including the alleged gunmen, are expected to stand trial next spring, with all still facing the possibility of life in prison.
