Former adult film performer Chelsea Perkins, known online as “Selena Savage,” drove from Virginia to Ohio and executed her former classmate Matthew Dunmire inside Cuyahoga Valley National Park, later claiming she did it because she believed he raped her years earlier. Before her arrest, Dunmire’s mother and her partner attempted a botched vigilante attack disguised as a UPS delivery, shooting the wrong woman before being captured. Perkins is now serving more than 22 years in federal prison and is fighting a court-ordered $596,000 restitution payment to Dunmire’s family, arguing the calculation of his projected future earnings is unfair.
