Investigators quickly focused on their son, Erik Metzig, who vanished from the property, was later found nearly 30 miles away, and left behind blood evidence, weapons, and a chilling notebook outlining plans to kill his parents. Erik ultimately pleaded no contest to two counts of first-degree intentional homicide and was sentenced to two consecutive life terms in prison. Law&Crime’s Elizabeth Millner goes Inside the Crime.
