Officers located the boy’s mother, 20-year-old Alize Rodriguez, who appeared incoherent and gave conflicting explanations about leaving him while she went to the restroom. After police discovered a discarded bag containing suspected drugs and cannabis, Rodriguez was arrested for child neglect and drug possession and later pleaded guilty.
