20:01Now PlayingPolice in Bismarck responded to a possible DUI call after a concerned witness reported a woman acting erratically in a parking lot. During questioning, 53-year-old Melanie Udell suddenly tried to drive away and allegedly struck an officer with her vehicle, prompting another officer to open fire. Udell was pulled from the car and given emergency aid but later died at the hospital, and investigators ultimately ruled the officer’s use of deadly force justified with no charges filed.
