The hearing comes months after Burke was arrested for allegedly killing 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who he was also reportedly abusing sexually. In a major shakeup, the district attorney announced that Burke chose to substitute out his legal counsel, meaning he will now be represented by a public defender.
